We’re all aware that change is inevitable, but what do you hang on to when life opens a new chapter for you?

For Elika Ghajar, it was painting. The title of the show doesn’t reflect her subject matter, but the time period in which she brought this collection to life. Right after her son moved abroad, she found herself spending hours in her studio, only to come out and find that the sun had already set. She thought to herself: “I’m so lucky to paint! To be able to lose myself in my practice and have art as my savior.”

The collection, however, is not filled with sorrow, she affirms. She has experienced many emotions in this stage of her life, including great joy and pride in her son’s growth and achievements. This is one of Elika’s most personal collections yet, and she hopes to reach her audience on an emotional level.
