Hossein Edalatkhah

Hossein Edalatkhah (b. 1979, Tehran, Iran) is a multidisciplinary Iranian-American artist based in New York. Renowned for his bold exploration of identity, sexuality, and cultural heritage, Edalatkhah's work delves into themes of gender, queerness, and the sociopolitical landscape of Iran. His art often incorporates traditional Persian symbols, figures, and calligraphy, reinterpreted through a contemporary lens to challenge societal norms and taboos.

Edalatkhah's oeuvre is characterized by a fusion of traditional Persian aesthetics with contemporary themes. His works often feature phallic forms and queer symbols, serving as critiques of male dominance and societal constructs. Through his art, he addresses issues of feminism, gender roles, and the complexities of cultural identity.
