Shookooh Zoroufchi

Shookooh Zoroufchi is an Iranian-Canadian visual artist based in Toronto. Her multidisciplinary practice spans painting, drawing, and mixed media, often exploring themes of memory, diaspora, and the emotional resonance of displacement. Drawing from personal narratives and cultural histories, Zoroufchi’s work navigates the tension between fragility and strength, intimacy and distance. Her layered compositions often incorporate expressive marks, symbolic forms, and muted palettes that evoke introspection and nostalgia. Zoroufchi holds a background in fine arts and has exhibited her work in solo and group shows across Canada and internationally. Her artistic voice reflects a deep engagement with identity, belonging, and the poetics of everyday experience.
